Midterm Preparation

Class, our midterm is scheduled in one week - Thursday March 5th.

Please use this post to get a conversation going on the topics you'd like to review next week and questions you may have on the material.

Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and if you know the answer to someone's question, also post it here.

Last semester, one of your fellow students prepared this study guide here, and another student gathered all the lecture notes questions into a sample questions guide here.

See you on Monday in class!

NASA's largest photo ever!

Hey guys, I found a video going over NASA's photo they released on the 5th. The picture alone is 4.3gb! The photo is 69536 pixels across by 22230 pixels down. This is not only the largest photo ever taken, its the most detailed look at the andromeda galaxy that we have ever seen. I found this video accompanying it, and it really puts the size of the universe in perspective. Awesome.

Class, here's a Wikipedia page talking about the origin of the 7 days of the week from the names of the planets, moon and Sun: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_the_days_of_the_week#Days_named_after_planets
